DIY Painted Studs T-shirt

DIY Painted studs t-shirt

Happy Monday everyone! I have been wanting to do an old T-shirt DIY, and I had some studs on hand, so I thought- why not paint them and put them against this cool neon yellow? I didn’t just want to put regular metal studs on this bright neon top though, so I decided to paint the studs pastel pink! I love the contrast of neon and pastel, and I’m soooo happy with how it turned out. I used pink nail polish on the studs, and it went through the wash fine. Here’s how I made it!

Supplies needed: An old t-shirt, some studs, jewelry pliers, nail polish.

1. Paint your studs on a paper plate or disposable surface. I used 2 coats

DIY Jewelry Organizer

DIY jewelry organizer

I actually made this DIY jewelry organizer last summer, but I wanted to share with you how easy it was to make! These are great because you can see all your necklaces hanging in one place, without having to search through jewelry boxes and bowls full of tangled necklaces. They could also make great displays for craft shows if you don’t want to spend a fortune. If I can make this- trust me, you can too. I swear you only have to use the drill for like 5 minutes.

Supplies: All you need are 2 pieces of wood of the same size, a pair of hinges, spray paint, and screw hooks. You will also need a drill and some screws. All these materials can be found at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

  • 1. Start by spray painting your wood front and back. Let dry.
  • Once your paint is dry (I think I waited 24 hours just to be safe) you can screw in your hinges. Make sure to use the screw size suggested on your hinges package.
  • Then, start drilling holes that are small enough that your screw hooks screw in tightly. I actually laid out where I wanted my hooks by laying the boards flat and laying necklaces on top to see where they would fall. It ended up in a pretty random pattern, but I like that. You can plan out where you want your hooks if you want with some measuring tape and a pencil.
  • I also added some ribbon on the bottom right board to hang earrings and cuff bracelets from. I just used a little superglue and ribbon- it looks a little messy in the back, but whatevs.

Now I have a beautiful vertical display to store my jewelry on! Can you tell I’m a little into cheap costume jewelry? Will you be doing any DIY jewelry projects? I’d love to see them!
